A specialist's training, applied to everyday eye surgery
Dr. Feiz trained in ophthalmology at two university programs, then completed a fellowship in cornea and laser refractive surgery at the University of California, Davis — the sub-specialty that covers LASIK, PRK, corneal transplantation, and the front-of-the-eye problems that make cataract surgery difficult.
He spent nearly ten years in academic medicine, teaching residents and fellows and bringing new surgical techniques to patients, before moving to private practice in Walnut Creek. He founded Eye Care of East Bay, where he continues to practice with the same approach: careful measurement, honest recommendations, and a surgeon who sees the patient at every visit.

Where he operates
LASIK and PRK are performed at InVision Laser Center in Concord, using the WaveLight FS200 femtosecond laser and the Alcon WaveLight Allegretto excimer laser. Cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and corneal surgery are performed at Aspen Surgery Center. All consultations and follow-up visits are at the Walnut Creek office.

Dr. Feiz does his own consultations. He explains what the measurements mean, what each option would realistically deliver for your eyes, and — regularly — when the best advice is not to have surgery. Patients consistently describe him as thorough, unhurried, and direct.
