Procedures

LASIK

All-laser, bladeless vision correction using the WaveLight FS200 and Alcon Allegretto lasers. Most patients see well the next day. $2,650 per eye, all-inclusive.

LASIK →

PRK

Surface laser treatment with no flap — the same long-term result, and the safer choice for thin corneas, dry eye, and contact sports. Same price as LASIK.

PRK →

Cataract surgery

Fifteen-minute outpatient surgery at Aspen Surgery Center, with a lens implant chosen around how you actually use your eyes.

Cataract surgery →

Premium lens implants

PanOptix, Vivity, TECNIS Odyssey, TECNIS PureSee, enVista Envy and toric lenses — from all three major manufacturers, so the choice fits your eye.

Compare lenses →

Refractive lens exchange

Cataract surgery's technology before a cataract forms. For patients over 50 who want out of glasses — and it means you will never need cataract surgery.

Lens exchange →

Cornea & transplant

Fellowship-level care for Fuchs' dystrophy, keratoconus, scarring and pterygium — including DMEK, DSEK and full-thickness transplantation.

Corneal care →

A surgeon's practice, not a laser center

High-volume centers route you through a patient counselor and you meet the surgeon minutes before the procedure. Here, Dr. Feiz reviews your measurements with you, explains what each option would realistically deliver for your eyes — including when the answer is not to operate — and performs every step himself.

LASIK and PRK are priced identically, so nothing about the recommendation is financially motivated. The LASIK evaluation is free, so finding out costs you nothing but an hour.

His cornea and refractive fellowship matters most in the cases that are not routine: thin or irregular corneas, significant dry eye, very high prescriptions, Fuchs' dystrophy, cataracts in eyes that had LASIK decades ago, and problems after surgery elsewhere. Other eye doctors in the East Bay refer those patients to him.

Common questions

Who performs the surgery?

Every procedure is performed by Vahid Feiz, MD personally — a board-certified ophthalmologist who completed a cornea and laser refractive surgery fellowship at UC Davis and has more than 21+ years of surgical experience. He also does your consultation and every follow-up visit. You will not be handed to a rotating surgeon or a sales counselor.

What does LASIK cost?

$2,650 per eye, all-inclusive, and PRK is the same price. That covers a free evaluation, twelve months of follow-up visits, and any enhancement needed within that year. CareCredit financing is accepted. Full breakdown →

Where are the procedures performed?

LASIK and PRK are done at InVision Laser Center in Concord. Cataract, lens exchange, and corneal surgery are done at Aspen Surgery Center. All consultations and follow-up visits are at our Walnut Creek office at 100 N. Wiget Lane.

Do you accept Medicare and insurance?

Yes for medically necessary care — cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, pterygium, and eye disease are covered by Medicare and most major plans. Laser vision correction, refractive lens exchange, and premium lens upgrades are elective and paid out of pocket, with CareCredit available. We do not accept Medi-Cal, and we see patients 18 and older.

What makes this practice different?

Sub-specialty training applied to routine operations. Cornea fellowship training is what makes the difference in the cases that are not straightforward — thin corneas, prior LASIK, Fuchs' dystrophy, high prescriptions, failed surgery elsewhere. It is also why Dr. Feiz is comfortable telling patients when not to have surgery.
